New Club Building Resources

Why Build an Optimist Club?

Club Building's primary goal is to build and develop Clubs (people) that contribute to the betterment of your community with a focus on youth development. While Optimists are all about youth, we are proud to tell you about the added benefits of leadership, fellowship and personal development. Optimist International understands that people join a Club for different reasons, the number one reason people join organizations is "intangible benefits." People join for that good feeling or to get those goose bumps from helping a young person succeed. Optimist International recognizes diversity and time limitations of today's population.

  •   Optimist Club FAQ - Answers what is an Optimist Club, and answers what is our creed, our vision, and our mission.
  •   Programs - describes the international programs as conducted within our District

  •   District News - News from Clubs provides short features on Club projects and accomplishments

The Elevator Speech

Throughout NCB materials this year, you will find references to the "elevator Speech".  The technique can be helpful in recruiting members and New Club Building.  To find out more click on Preparing An Optimistic Elevator Speech.

Other NCB Resources

A site that pulls many NCB resources together in a logical manner is www.newoptimistclub.com/ It is the Northwest Pacific Region's New Club-Building website and is the creation of the Northwest Pacific Region's Governor and a group called Research Idaho. Lots of good ideas and hyperlinks to posters, planning guides, etc.
